At the beginning of 2020, Hierros y Metales Tirso together with the Rucecan company began the demolition of the old buildings that Cementos Alfa owns in the Free Trade Zone of Santander. These are considered as the highest properties in the whole autonomous capital, Cantabria. The main role of the Works will be the removal of fiber cement; garbage and wood, the demolition of warehouses and low parts of the building, generating these last work a platform that allows the backhoe machine to work comfortably and quickly over greater heights.

Santander hosts today the meeting on the statewide matter, organized by the Autonomous Chamber of Commerce, the public company Sodercan and EIT Climate-KIC, the European Innovation and Knowledge Community that works to accelerate the transition to an emission-free economy carbon. The main theme of the event will be the circular economy, based on not recycling but on redesigning and reusing resources and products.

The first Defense Industry Cluster in Spain was founded last wednesday, formed by 18 companies and 5 institutions, in which Grupo Tirso, Erzia Technologies and Santander Teleport are present.

Luis García, CEO of Erzia and Santander Teleport, is the president of the Cluster. He explained during the press conference that it is aiming to be "a useful tool" for the support and empowerment of this industrial sector that has "an important presence" in Cantabria but which is "not very visible" despite the development of "high technology" defense systems and services.

The World Teleport Association has chosen Santander Teleport as the winner of the prestigious Independent Teleport of the Year award at its annual ceremony meeting. This event takes place annually in the city of Washington during the Satellite trade show, of which Santander Teleport exhibits its services to the public.

Cristina Lanzagorta, commercial director of Partners and Alliances of Microsoft Iberica, has starred in the first master class of the 2nd edition of Stem Talent Girl Cantabria, held at the Palace of Exhibitions and Congresses of Santander. An educational project promoted by "Mujer & Talento" Association and the ASTI Foundation, whose mission is to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of women leaders in science and technology.

"Mujer y Talento" is born from the union of a group of family and executive companies from Cantabria in order to stimulate, attract and develop, through programs of great impact, the talent of girls and women for their empowerment, growth and protagonism, within the social transformation towards real equality. The conglomerate of companies that are part of "Mujer y Talento" is committed to an ambitious CSR project, genuine and consistent with its values.

"Mujer y Talento" develops programs in the sports field (C.D. Talent), educational (Talent Girl) and artistic.

The biomedical company Cellbiocán has been distinguished by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and, endorsed by the Foundation for Health Innovation and Prospective in Spain (Fipse), will participate in the third edition of the Fipse International Mentoring Program that will begin next July in Boston (United States).

Gema Camus, Head of Prevention, Environment and Quality Department of Hierros y Metales Tirso SA, participated in the program "Diversity Management in the company", within the project "A Corporate Social Challenge", organized by Cruz Roja in the Gran Casino of Santander, exposing the importance of people for Grupo Tirso.

Santander has hosted the European Night of the Investigators, an initiative that is celebrated simultaneously in three hundred cities of all Europe and whose purpose is to bring science closer to society. 250 scientists, 31 research groups and 40 volunteers participated in the implementation of some twenty workshops and different activities, spread throughout the city.
